Unlock the Essence
Overload and priorities

How do you set priorities when everything feels like too much?

When everything seems equally important, part of the problem may be that it is all sitting in the same place in your mind. Then no starting point feels good enough. A priority does not mean the rest is unimportant. It means choosing what you will move first.

Example questions

“Everything feels like too much and I don't know what to do first.”
“What is actually urgent?”
“Which one thing would unlock the others?”

Urgent, important or simply loud?

Urgent has a real deadline or consequence. Important builds something that matters to you, but may not require action today. A loud worry takes attention even when there is no concrete move to make right now. Separate these three groups before you make a plan.

Which thing unlocks the others?

A good first priority is not always the biggest task. Often it is a call, a decision, a piece of information or a short obligation that removes a blockage and allows other things to move.

How small should the first step be?

Choose a move you can finish or clearly begin in one short block of time. The goal is not to solve the whole day, but to stop carrying everything at once.
