How do you set a boundary without feeling guilty?
A boundary does not have to be harsh. It protects your space and states what you will accept, rather than trying to manage the other person. In Unlock, you can make the distinction between a boundary and control clearer.
Example questions
Boundary or control?
A boundary says: "This is not okay for me, and this is how I will respond." Control says: "You have to respond this way so I can feel better." The difference is in what you are trying to govern.
Why does guilt appear?
Guilt can appear when you are only beginning to protect your space. That does not automatically mean the boundary is wrong. What matters is saying it briefly, clearly and without attacking.
How can you ask Unlock?
In the app, you can write: "Is this a boundary or control?" or "How can I say this without guilt?"
